A Rice Krispie treat made with Cinnamon Toast Crunch… Is it worth it, or not?
Let’s start off will talking about the S’Mores Gourmet Cereal Treat from Zuri’s Sweets Shop itself. The treat is made with rice cereal, cinnamon bran, marshmallows, and chocolate chips. This is a large snack, which is good for the hefty price of $5.49 (plus tax). The softball-sized treat has a good flavor combination (however, ours was quite stale…). While it may not be the most fresh thing you will eat on your vacation, it’s a reasonable upgrade from a standard Rice Krispie treat you can find everywhere else.
Ultimately, you could find a substantially better snack at Animal Kingdom around the same price point (you could get a Dole Whip or this delicious corn on the cob right outside of Zuri’s Sweets Shop). Like we have said before, opinions on the overall taste and quality vary greatly. We could have gone into the shop and been served a leftover from the day before vs a freshly prepared treat.
We would likely consider getting one of the Gourmet Cereal Treats again on a future trip to Animal Kingdom under certain conditions. Asking the cast member for the preparation date to ensure we get one just off the line. We do believe that a fresh version of the treat may be absolutely delicious!
