We truly love food, wherever that may be. But what we love more than just eating a great meal, is a great meal with history. On a recent trip to Huntington, West Virginia, we visited the famous Jim’s Steak & Spaghetti House (known simply as Jim’s in the remainder of this post).
Jim’s opened its doors to guests 82 years ago in 1938. Not long after in 1944, Jim’s began serving its now-famous Spaghetti with Meat Sauce. This coveted meal of perfectly al dente spaghetti is topped with one massive scoop of the savory house-made meat sauce. Pictured is a small, and by no means is this a small meal!
A dining experience at Jim’s isn’t a fancy get-up. The restaurant began as a simple cheeseburger, milkshake and ice cream cone location, and expanded over the years to what it is today. After placing an order of spaghetti, guests will quickly be served a starter of slaw or salad with your choice of dressing. This is followed quickly with your plate of spaghetti and dinner rolls.
The soft spaghetti noodles are covered with the perfect amount of the famous house-made sauce. This iconic meat sauce is sweet and savory that is balanced beautifully for the perfect bite. The small plate of spaghetti from Jim’s is the perfect amount to fill you up before a fresh slice of pie for dessert.
Guests can enjoy Jim’s famous spaghetti – as well as the rest of the menu – as a to-go option! This quick and delicious meal is truly the best way to enjoy the day. Here you can see the efficient kitchen staff preparing cups of spaghetti for to-go orders. Each with the proper amount of sauce and noodles, topped with a beautiful mound of parmesan cheese!
There is nice variety of pie offerings at Jim’s, including a mouthwatering warm apple pie – served with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream. Guests can also indulge in chocolate pie, Boston creme pie, strawberry pie and more!
Whether you find yourself near Huntington, West Virginia or not, a trip to Jim’s Steak and Spaghetti House is a must do on every foodie’s checklist!
