Beignets are a delicious and classic Disney Park and Resort treat. The soft and warm, powdered sugar covered snacks are perfect for any time of the day! We’ve covered the recipe for Tiana’s Famous Beignets, but this classic Disney Park recipe is simple and a great way to add a touch of Disney magic to any occasion.

1 package Dry Yeast

1/2 cup Sugar

2 Eggs

7 cups Flour

1 1/2 cups Warm Water

1 tsp Salt

1 cup Undiluted Evaporated Milk

1/4 cup Soft Shortening Oil, for frying

Confectioner’s Sugar

  1. In a large bowl, sprinkle yeast over water stirring to dissolve.

  2. Add sugar, salt, eggs and milk and blend with a rotary beater.

  3. Add flour and mix until a dough forms. Cover and chill overnight.

  4. Roll out dough on a floured surface to a thickness of 1/8″.  Cut into 2 1/2″ squares (for a Disney touch, use a Mickey-shaped cookie cutter).

  5. Heat oil to 360ºF and fry the beignets for 2-3 minutes or until lightly browned on both sides. Drain on paper towels.

  6. Heavily cover with confectioner’s sugar and enjoy.

Notes: Makes approximately 5 dozen. Dough can also be stored in the refrigerator for several days.
