Beignets are a delicious and classic Disney Park and Resort treat. The soft and warm, powdered sugar covered snacks are perfect for any time of the day! We’ve covered the recipe for Tiana’s Famous Beignets, but this classic Disney Park recipe is simple and a great way to add a touch of Disney magic to any occasion.
Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory Beignets
Ingredients
- 1 package Dry Yeast
- ½ c sugar
- 2 eggs
- 7 c flour
- 1½ c warm water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 c undiluted evaporated milk
- ¼ c soft shortening oil for frying
- Confectioner's sugar
Instructions
In a large bowl, sprinkle yeast over water stirring to dissolve.
Add sugar, salt, eggs and milk and blend with a rotary beater.
Add flour and mix until a dough forms. Cover and chill overnight.
Roll out dough on a floured surface to a thickness of 1/8″. Cut into 2 1/2″ squares).
Heat oil to 360ºF and fry the beignets for 2-3 minutes or until lightly browned on both sides. Drain on paper towels.
Heavily cover with confectioner’s sugar and enjoy.
For the added Disney touch, cut the dough before frying with a Mickey shaped cookie cutter!
