Jambon Beurre

January 4, 2021 by KingdomCuisine Leave a Comment

Epcot is quite honestly a food paradise. There are not many places in the world where you can snack on School Bread from Norway while on your way to indulge in a fresh baguette or Jambon Beurre from France. All before you sit down in England for an order of Fish & Chips. Today, we are taking a stroll to France to talk about one classic French staple.

The Jambon Beurre is a French staple. This simple sandwich focuses on fresh ingredients in the perfect portion for one delicious, inexpensive, and quick meal. The sandwich is made using a sliced fresh baguette that is coated in a thin layer of butter (beurre) and filled with thin slices of cooked ham (jambon). That’s it, it really is as simple as that. Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie, the bakery nestled in the France pavilion of Epcot, features a unique take on this classic sandwich.

Unlike the traditional Jambon Beurre, this sandwich boasts thick slices of ham inside of a fresh baguette with dijon mustard butter and slices of Gruyère. The sandwich is slightly toasted upon ordering to melt the cheese into a beautifully gooey sensation. While it may not be an exact copy of the original, this version of a Jambon Beurre is absolutely outrageous.

The baguette has the perfect crunch on the outside while the center is soft and airy. The ham has a slightly smoky flavor adding depth to each bite, while the dijon mustard butter brings a little heat to the mix. But what makes this sandwich over the top delicious is the melted Gruyère.

The Jambon Beurre from Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie is one tasty and budget-friendly meal or snack at Epcot and needs to be on your list of must-try items from Epcot!
