Baileys and Jack Daniel’s Mousse Recipe

Coral Reef is home to some unique offerings, and the somewhat-hidden location has one dessert you might just fall in love with. The restaurant, which is located inside of the Seas pavilion in Future World, has spectacular views of the aquarium and a fresh menu that focuses on seafood.

On the dessert menu is the Baileys and Jack Daniel’s Mousse. We talked about this decadent treat recently, but today we wanted to share the recipe with you!

This recipe is simple, requires just a few ingredients, and is sure to be a crowd pleaser.

Baileys and Jack Daniel's Mousse

Ingredients

Baileys Mousse

  • 1 lb white chocolate
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 1/8 c Baileys Irish Cream
  • 1/4 c gelatin
  • 1 c heavy cream

Jack Daniel's Mousse

  • 1 lb dark chocolate
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 1/8 c Jack Daniel's
  • 1/4 c gelatin
  • 1 c heavy cream

Instructions

Baileys Mousse

  1. Cream egg yolks.

  2. Whip heavy cream (not too stiff).

  3. Melt chocolate in double boiler.

  4. Dissolve gelatin in boiling water, add to chocolate.

  5. Add Baileys to chocolate, blend well. Add yolks and fold in.

  6. Fold whipped cream into chocolate.

  7. Spray molds inside with baking oil. Sprinkle with sugar. Pour into molds and store in freezer until mousse is set.

Jack Daniel's Mousse

  1. Cream egg yolks.

  2. Whip heavy cream (not too stiff).

  3. Melt chocolate in double boiler.

  4. Dissolve gelatin in boiling water, add to chocolate.

  5. Add Jack Daniel's to chocolate, blend well. Add yolks and fold in.

  6. Fold whipped cream into chocolate.

  7. Spray molds inside with baking oil. Sprinkle with sugar. Pour into molds and store in freezer until mousse is set.

To serve

  1. Place one layer of Bailey's mousse on the plate followed by a layer of Jack Daniel's mousse. 

Optional: You can combine into one mold for each dessert. After the first layer is frozen, allow the second mousse to cool then add to the mold.
