We’re traveling back in time to The Walt Disney World Village to bring one easy and delicious recipe to the table. Disney Springs has a rich history, including 4 name changes! The Walt Disney World Village was the name for what will later become Disney Springs between 1977 and 1989.
The Strawberry Glazed Bananas, which were served at the Village during this time, are super easy to put together and make one great ice cream, baked oatmeal, anything topping! Of course, you can always eat these glazed bananas in a cup by themselves for one tasty snack.
Start off by combining strawberries, sugar, and water in a saucepan and heat until boiling. Once it boils, add cornstarch that has been dissolved in water and simmer for 3 minutes.
Remove from the heat and add red food coloring and lemon juice. Add in sliced bananas and gently stir to coat the bananas and serve at room temperature.
Strawberry Glazed Bananas
Ingredients
- 10 oz sliced strawberries
- 2 tbsp sugar
- ⅔ c water divided
- 2½ tbsp cornstarch
- ⅛ tsp red food coloring
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1½ lbs bananas
Instructions
Combine strawberries, sugar and ⅓ cup of water in a saucepan. Heat until boiling.
Stir in cornstarch that has been dissolved in ⅓ cup of water. Cook and stir until mixture boils. Reduce heat and simmer for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat, add food coloring and lemon juice.
Peel and slice bananas. Add to sauce and cently stir to coat bananas.
Serve at room temperature.
