Disney Springs

Few locations at the Walt Disney World Resort have changed like Disney Springs. Since March 22, 1975, the area has been called the Lake Buena Vista Shopping Village, Walt Disney World Shopping Village, Disney Village Marketplace, Downtown Disney, and eventually Disney Springs.

The Village Restaurant has been part of the journey since 1975. Opening as a two-story restaurant overlooking the Buena Vista Lagoon, the Village Restaurant also included the Village Lounge. This is where jazz musicians would perform from 8 pm until 1 am Sunday through Thursday, and 9 pm to 2 am Friday and Saturday. The restaurant served a variety of selections on the menu, including beef, chicken, and seafood specialties.

And there you have it – the now-extinct Maryland Crab Cakes from the Village Restaurant. So grab a plate, enjoy, and have fun making your kitchen the most delicious place on earth!
